This is not true, for the simple reason I will describe below:
People can say they still exist, the same as they always have. Physically they are the same animals they always were, including their ability to reproduce.
There are more of us than ever before. And this makes us secure in our minds. There are now more of us, and we consume more.
We do not ask ourselves, however, if we can think better. Because it is obvious that we do not. Our ability to think has been severely compromised. And this is threatening our future as a species.
And the future of our planet.

Being Aware of Computers
Has not helped me be aware of myself. Which is a primary objective for me at the moment.
They are two different realities. Expertise in one does not increase your expertise in the other.

BullShit Jobs
I just got this book, in the Kindle version.
I probably won't read it much, because it merely confirms my personal job experiences.
I have had plenty of these jobs myself and wondered why more people were not complaining about them.
They were not complaining about them, because they were so common. And people know better than bitch about them, for reasons you and I know instinctively.
But I want to add to his analysis, that did not include the Computer industry where I toiled for 20 years (1980-2000). This industry not only created useless jobs no one had imagined before.
It destroyed computer companies in numbers never imagined before. This was not bullshit (that came out of the rear end of a cow) it was a slaughterhouse where the entire bull was consumed, for no apparent reason.

Pintico
A nice lady was selling this in the aisle at the Walmart store yesterday.
A favorite food here is GalloPinto (spotted rooster) that is rice and beans. It is now manufactured locally and packaged in cans.
You can also buy this locally at any Soda (the local fast-food outlets) or make it yourself.
This product is for lazy people like me.

Dead Tired in Cartago
Today I did my weekly shopping in Cartago, as always.
I thought I had rested up from a spell of Vertigo, but I hadn't rested enough.
I gradually got more and more tired. And by the time I got home, I could barely walk.
I know I should treat my old body and mind more considerately, but I keep forgetting.

The Church
My family has not coped very well with the changes in our family's church.
This began as the LDS church early in the 19th Century. After the death of the founder, Joseph Smith, in 1844, in Illinois, they were led by Brigham Young, on a long journey across the Rocky Mountains and established an irrigated agriculture economy on the shores of the Great Salt Lake. This became the largest Mormon church, by far.
Meanwhile, another church, the RLDS church, was formed back in Illinois, led by Joseph Smith's son, Joseph Smith III. This eventually moved its headquarters to Independence, Missouri, and became the second-largest Mormon church. Under his leadership, it grew rapidly in terms of membership and financing
After his death, it did not grow so rapidly, and eventually became the Community of Christ, and a number of other churches. My family did not want to admit this, but it was losing its importance.
Their children were not interested in it at all.

The Importance of Being Aware
We should be aware that we are not aware, but this is impossible.
There must be a historical reason for this, but would be long and complicated. Because in five hundred years we have changed so much.
We have to be satisfied with observing how we are (a demanding task) and how most people cannot do this,
The struggle to do this creates a crisis in many people's lives and is a cause for our high rate of suicide. People are trying to find meaning in their lives but failing.
I am reading The Updated ACM Code of Ethics, that carefully overlooks this. Computer people are concerned with ethics, but their concern only goes so far.
