My Nephew Christian

I sent this to Christian first, for his comments. He wanted me to add that he now has a hypnosis business.

He is the son of my brother Steve Smith. Christian attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, for four years. This college was sponsored by the RLDS church. His mother and father were both active in this.

I do not know what degree he attained, but he wanted to get an advanced degree in Philosophy, at one time. But he taught for the Peace Corp instead, teaching English in Ukraine, and learning Russian at the same time.

He then married a young woman, Christie Skoor, whose family was also active in the Church, and they became missionaries for the Church in Eastern Europe.

This appointment did not last long, probably because the Church was going through huge changes,  becoming The Community of Christ.

They returned to Seattle, Christie's home town, and raised their three daughters. With Chris doing most of the raising. Christie had several jobs and was the primary breadwinner. Chris (Christian) was working part-time, on the weekend, for the Church. They became Chris and Christie Skoorsmiath.

Then the Church had a financial crisis, and could not employ him anymore. His father had retired and was working for the Church, as a volunteer.

I am adding this to my blog, to show other people how interesting our family is.
