The Rapid Growth of Software

I am not sure if this is a good thing or not.

There seem to be two things in the world now: People and Computers. And Computers are the fastest growing. And they are powered entirely by Software.

And People are saying "So what?"

To which I reply "Because they are now running the world!" To which they will reply, "Not all of it, but much of it!'

They won't deny their importance, but they think this is exaggerated.

I will only say one thing: they are smart and we are stupid. And in the competition for the earth's resources (especially its intellectual resources), they are way ahead.

This will not be obvious to most of the People in the World. who will be satisfied with a few crumbs from the table. But the Smart Ones will be dining to excess and will be lucky to survive.

We have inherited a New World we don't understand.
