These are common traits of any mass society. The conformity is obvious enough (this is part of any society, but especially a mass society) and this causes violence that is unavoidable. Superficially, the connection here is not obvious - but at a deeper level, it is.
When people are forced to be like everyone else - and they respond by hating everyone else.
One reason they are like everyone else, is because they were formed by mass technologies - notably Electricity and Photography. These created the Movies, Radio, Television, and the Computer - with its Internet and Wireless networks.
That in our time, are embodied by the Phone, that can do anything, and fits in the palm of our hands! It is too soon to see what the ultimate effects of this will be - but it will no doubt take attention away from us, and our problems - and focus us on it, and its problems.
