I almost hate to say it - but this is a great book. I usually listen to nonfiction - but, as the beginning of the book makes clear - this is almost a historical novel. Everything in it could have happened - and much of it did - but he has turned it into a novel - to keep the reader's (or listener's) attention.
You keep wondering how anything could get worse - and sure enough, you find out.
The Italians followed El Duce (Mussolini) straight to their graves. The only ones who survived had immigrated to America long before.
