My Family and the Church in the Fifties

This Church was the RLDS church, that we knew was the right church. And everyone else supported us in this belief.

The LDS church was still out west somewhere and did not bother us.

I went to Graceland College, the Church college, a two-year college in those days, and then transferred to the U of Illinois.

What a shock! No one knew of our church or our college.  But they knew about Engineering and had a fine Engineering school. They also paid for my Appendix Operation, because Health Insurance was included in the tuition, which was low already.

I worked my way through college, as many other students did. I rode a Bicycle, that my father had used also.
