Overlapping Patterns

I have a woman cousin, who once told me the story behind her husband's death. I was going over this story in my mind today, and realized what a fascinating one it was.

Her husband had one passion in his life - Men's Clothing (actually Men's Business Clothing). And he was a successful executive in a Men's Clothing business. He was probably the brains behind the business - that was owned by two brothers, that hated each other, with a passion.

To make a long story short, the business failed. And the husband was left in bad shape, emotionally. This is the first pattern, and common one - businesses fail, for almost any reason imaginable - but they do fail - often to the distress of the people in them. They have devoted their lives to the business - but now it is gone!

The second pattern is also common - my cousin's husband lived a life separate from that of his wife. The marriage, where two people should have become closer - did not happen. And neither one realized this. And for that matter, no one else did either. A common pattern.

The wife did not realize what emotional stress her husband was under - until he killed himself!

This brings up a much larger pattern - no one understood what was happening to all of the people involved - the company, the husband, and the wife. I repeat - no one understood what was happening!

This was the final, overlapping pattern. And the man caught in the middle, killed himself.
