I can remember the Sixties fondly, it was a good time to be alive, and no one can understand it now, who had not been through it themselves. And frankly, not many of those can understand it either - because the forces that ended the Sixties, eradicated their memory.
The Sixties, as a social movement, began in the late Sixties, as the name implies - was most active in the Seventies, and lasted until the early Eighties, in some areas, such as San Diego, California.
For me, it was associated with Gestalt Therapy, and I lived with my teacher, and his second wife, in his ranch in the Southern Utah desert (close to Moab, Utah). We were building a better world, and we saw no reason not to.
We were so innocent, and could not understand, how an entire nation could lose its mind, so quickly.
This has happened before, in other countries - for example Germany in the Thirties, with its Nazism. The Germans, the most cultured nation in history - lost their mind completely.
In America, in the Eighties, the results were not so dramatic - but they were just as important, even if Americans themselves, were not aware of them.
This is something I had been writing about, a lot. How America lost its mind, never got it back, and, in fact - doesn't want it back.
